The History of the Benátky area

The Benátky (Venice) pond and its surrounds was a favourite place for recreation as early as the time of the First Republic. The pond used to have an island, the concrete bank was a shore with a jumping bridge and rowing boats for hire. It was used as a place for social events and firework displays and in winter people came here to skate. The little pub here was also an integral part of all this and in the 1980´s indoor and outdoor swimming pools were added.

The area has recently undergone a transition. A children´s playground and other sports facilities, such as an extensive skatepark and workout area, have grown up around the pond. The indoor pool has undergone reconstruction to include the latest technology and a wellness centre. The Benátky site has thus become a pace for active relaxation for the whole family all-year-round.

We look forward to your visit.
